movie review

This Christmas Movie Classic is much more than a Hollywood Favorite. It's actually a great biblical example of how we might want to live and teach our family members what God is looking for in the behavior of His believers.

Outside the opening galatic scene portraying a heavenly conversation amongst two so called angle authorities, the movie makes no claim or reference to God or the bible. ...

However, the Lead Character in the story, "George Baily" played so believably well by movie legend, Jimmy Stewart is still quite the Biblical template on how God would have all of us live our lives.

Serving and putting the needs and desires of others first, 1 Corinthians 10:24 even at the expense of our own wants and dreams ( as George Bailey does continuously in the story ) is very biblical and beneficial to a God-Like lifestyle.

Not only pleasing to the Lord but also to others we come in contact daily as well.

Despite it's age, this movie is a vintage, time honored hallmark of what an ideal Family and Community lifestyle could/should look like if we all could but see more of this selfless attitude and character practiced in ourselves and our neighbors.

A lifestyle that seems to be all but missing from the more recent generations of stories and real life scenarios we experience today.

Since the Bible is clear that we should treat others as we would want them to treat us Luke 6:31 - should we not examine ourselves ( and our so called role models of today ) and consider a kinder, more gentiler example of the "servant" mentality that "George Bailey" practices in putting others ahead of himself?

1 Peter 5:5 | Philippians 2:3

A final note:

I would like to add that I have found, no matter the medium, subject, content or atmosphere you find yourself in at any given time, the Lord can be found ( and seen ) anywhere and everywhere if we open our hearts to seek Him and willing to reach out to us, instructing and comforting us in any way possible.
